Hi, my name is Carole Langman and I have recently been very fortunate to join forces with Lauren, my daughter, in helping to set up and run Devon Dogs. My current role mainly involves the administration and bookkeeping, but I do help out with various other tasks as and when required (which makes life very interesting at times!).
My background is very varied; I have experienced a number of different jobs in many types of businesses and organisations over the years. One of my most favourite roles was when I was employed as a Personnel Officer within a local authority. The last, and most influential role before joining forces with Lauren was as a senior manager responsible for customer contact across Plymouth. I am now self-employed and undertake consultative and recruitment based projects, but only when I can fit work in around the dog training world!
I am also a firm believer in helping where you can and undertake voluntary work for Plymouth based Woodside Animal Welfare Charity, which I have been dedicated to for nearly 10 years now - be prepared to be badgered to purchase locally produced cards and raffle tickets around Christmas time!
Throughout my life I have always loved and cared for animals, and even though I am really a cat person, I have always owned (or should it be the other way around) dogs. The dog we have now is Bella, a beautiful tri-collie that Lauren ‘practised’ on as her first agility dog. I am such a big softie when it comes to dogs, and Bella is definitely far cleverer than I give her credit for, she teaches me new tricks every day!
I am so pleased that I am now in a position to help establish Devon Dogs as a dedicated training centre that welcomes each and every dog (and their owners), and supports them in their development.
