Training in the Ring Days Summer 2008 - 17th May, 22nd June, 31st August - We are very pleased to announce that DEVON DOGS is holding a series of Training in the Ring Days throughout the Summer period.  The dates we have chosen do not seem to clash with the South West show diary. The days will operate on a first come first served basis so please check your diary before booking.  We will be using both indoor and outdoor facilities where possible and a pay on the day ring will operate if time permits. .
We are aiming to hold a Pet Dog Show at 1.00pm in support of a local Animal Charity.

Young Dogs Stage 2 Agility Foundation Workshops - 25th June, 2nd July, 9th July, 16th July, 23rd July, 6th August - DEVON DOGS is holding agility foundation workshops throughout the summer period on Wednesday evenings from 7.00pm – 9.00pm. The sessions will be two hours long in small and friendly groups of a similar standard. These sessions will run in addition to weekly classes and on a first come first served basis. These classes are for those who want to compete in agility and therefore we recommend that you speak to trainer Lauren Langman before putting your name down. Puppies will be accepted from 10 months - 20 months old depending on discussion regarding requirements and standard reached.

Beginner’s Walk the Course Progressive Handling Workshops - 27th July, 3rd Aug, 9th Aug, 16th Aug, 6th Sep, 4th Oct, 25th Oct - DEVON DOGS is holding a series of Beginner’s Walk the Course Handling Workshops throughout the summer period. This is aimed at people who are starting to put courses together and will include teaching you aspects of handling and how to read a course and will be taught on an incremental basis. You will not be bringing your dogs to the sessions, but there will be a demonstration dog to watch and observe. The sessions will be one and a half hours long with very small and friendly groups of a similar standard. Sessions will be held in the barn or the field weather permitting.

Agility ‘Competitive Run the Course’ - 23rd August, 30th August, 14th September - We are holding a series of ‘Run the Course’ events from April through to June. There will be 8 in a class – length of class approx 1 ½ hours.  You will be running agility courses and one jumping course.  Feedback will be given on your runs.  Aimed at Grade 1-7 competing dogs only – all heights welcome.

OBEDIENCE

Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme - 27th August to 15th October 2008 -This 8 week course will focus on obedience, with a view to gradually developing training to adapt to many daily life situations. Each group of classes will last for an 8 week period, which will include an assessment process before moving up to the next level.  The Scheme will incorporate four awards: Puppy Foundation, Bronze, Silver and Gold.  The classes will be held on Wednesday evenings at Clyst St George Village Hall.
