PUPPY TRAINING

Puppy Socialisation and Pet Dog Training

These weekly classes are run in a friendly and welcoming environment so that puppies and young dogs feel comfortable. Our expert trainers encourage owners to understand how a young pup’s brain develops.

Freebie

We teach basis skills at this class to enable puppies to learn at a speed that suits their development and so that they can progress into our adult dog classes. We allow pups to enjoy the process of learning using innovative methods and dynamic equipment wherever possible in safe and secure environment.

Puppy learning should be fun and that is always how we try and keep it. This is definitely our favourite part of the week. You and pup will have fun, you will bond together, and we will be teaching you skills and how to gain good behaviour from the beginning of your relationship with your dog.

This is the foundation class for all of our training and pups should start as soon as they have had their second vaccination. Older pups are also welcome by request.

This new class is in high demand and if you are interested you will need to add your name to our waiting list as we are only holding one class a week for 8 dogs only.

Puppy Agility Foundation

Devon Dogs are pleased to announce this new class which is suitable for pups from 4 to 15 months old.

This class is specifically designed for puppies and dogs that are hoping to compete in the agility arena. You will cover all aspects of pre-agility training without putting any undue stress on a young dog’s joints.

Puppies will learn how to love the sport as well as self-control in an agility environment. You and your dog will have the opportunity to learn a variety of skills and be introduced to a wide range of professionally built agility equipment.

Jimmy jumping

Jimmy

"Before I started training Jimmy at Laurens he was a nightmare, 14 months old full of energy, not sure what to do with it, would never leave my side and would always bite me because of fustration. He was so scared of the Dog Walk that I couldn't get him within 10 foot of it without him crying and pulling away. We went totally back to basics, started clicker & target training, worked on play, jumping grid work and never pushed him into anything he didn't want to do.
You wouldn't believe it if you saw him now, he is totally focused on me and the job at hand, no more biting, working ahead well and to see all his contacts now, he can't wait to get on them, they are so fast and he will always stop at the bottom offering a nose touch and not move until I give the OK. We are aiming to compete in 2008, that is if I can get rid of my blonde head!!
