We have had an amazing week this week with the new GREEN Carpet in place at Bowerland Arena!  It looks stunning!  Our students have been super flexible and we have done loads of real life training while work has been taking place.  There are a few more final touches to be completed over the next few weeks.

It has been loads of fun working with our weekly, monthly, workshop and 121 students this week!  We held a Chase, Motivation and Impulse Control workshop on Saturday, Spaniel Day and our monthly class took place on Sunday.  In real-life, every day training it is really amazing how you can work on the skills you need with your dog that carry through to help you with a struggle or achieve a goal.  A super example is using doorways…having a polite dog that sits at a doorway while you walk through first and then comes through when invited is a dog with superb manners.  A dog who can sit at the doorway has amazing impulse control and this is what you need from your dog when you let them off lead…the impulse control to NOT chase that bunny hopping down the trail.  In agility, the impulse control to NOT run into the tunnel but to go over the dog walk when cued and for a gun dog, the impulse control to wait while another dog goes out to pick up a bird.  So this one skill that can be used everyday with your dog can really help with so many seemingly unrelated areas…and for us at Devon Dogs we are brushing up on our doorway manners ready for smooth entries and exits at Bowerland Arena!

Whatever your struggle or goal with your dog, we at Devon Dogs can help you out…we have a game for that!  Here are some highlights for events we are holding in 2019, and as always you can join us at anytime for a 121 bespoke training package!
