A Pro Dog Trainer Day – Behaviour problems, struggles and Troubleshooting 101!
6 November 2019 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm£100
Are you a Pro Dog Trainer? Do you want to start teaching but need some practical tips on how to start? Or maybe you are teaching and want to SUPERCHARGE your teaching?
This day will look at the practicalities of teaching ‘problem dogs’, and dogs with major struggles, or ‘issues. We will be focusing on behaviour issues that owners see day in day out and the typical struggles that owners face. We will work through the behaviour problems troubleshooting and finding solutions, and we will be looking at a variety of new games and how to play these for the types of NBN dogs you may come across. We will also consider:
- What questions to ask
- Troubleshooting struggles
- Setting up for success
- Games and adapting them
- The use of stooge dogs
- Using your space effectively
- Giving the owners a plan
- The use of demo dogs

Get the very most out of this day and borrow a dog from us and gain some insight into working a new and different dog! Put yourself in your student’s shoes! This will boost your teaching and give you some new skills!
We are looking forward to having you train with us! To help us ensure you have the best possible training experience, please arrive at the time specified. Devon Dogs is a Centre of Excellence training facility and we want to ensure all class change overs are smooth and easy. For this reason, can you please ensure you and your dog remain in your vehicle until the trainer is present and ready for you. If you are bringing any dogs with you, they must be quiet in vehicles when not training. Please bring covers for your crate.
We understand it is difficult to guess arrival times and we know you will have planned for the unexpected in your journey! Should you arrive a little early we recommend stopping at the Shell Services just off of the A30, only half a mile away from us. There is a Little Waitrose with tea/coffee and lots of healthy (or not so healthy!) snacks and prepared meals as well as toilet facilities. If you wish to go for a short walk, you can access the Granite Way in Sourton.
To get the best out of your training with us, please review this *awesome link* that includes what to bring for training, what you need if you are training in Bowerland Arena plus some helpful tips.
Please be aware that you may experience difficulties making a payment if you are using a mobile device.
