Naughty But Nice Day

December 9, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

£37.50 - £75
nbn day

Do you own a dog that lunges and spins on the lead, barks uncontrollably, finds situations stressful or fearful? Reactive dogs can make you feel as if you are not in control of the situation and this leads to you worrying about what people might think, resulting in your own anxiety and stress levels increasing. Owning a reactive dog is an issue that needs to be tackled and we are here to help you. Strategies for reactivity will be the focus of this workshop and we will give you the necessary skills and knowledge so you will be prepared to be able to deal with any situation that you face.

We will cover issues with on-lead reactivity or anxiety, counter conditioning games, management techniques, calming signals and strategies, predatory eye-stalk patterns (how they get dogs in trouble), play and social skills, confidence and focus strategies. We will be carrying out a range of activities and relationship games that you can take away to practice and hone, boosting your skills as a handler and giving you confidence. We will look at how you can start to understand your dog’s body language and what it is telling you. We will also look at different breed types and characteristics and how having a better understanding of the dog you own will underpin your training going forward.
