Out and about has been our focus the past week with our Life Skills students enjoying a lovely picnic on the moors. The dogs were all winners and did fabulous ignoring the picnics and settling on boundaries as appropriate. Our 121s have also been winning training on the beautiful Devon moors. With other dog walkers, sheep, cows, there are plenty of distractions to train around! The concepts we focused on were disengagement, engagement, confidence, optimism, and relationship all through games from balance paths to gundog games. For real life results getting out and about is the key and having fun getting into the great outdoors with stunning views makes dog training at Devon Dogs all the more special!
During the week we enjoyed 2 days of Jump Skills and Techniques with Lauren Langman. A super filmed event where we learned how to grow a better agility dog through great exercises to help build and grow our dogs jump style. We played games and worked on one jump as well as grid exercises all to help our agility dogs be more efficient and to improve their style. As always there was lots to learn, and it was another amazing day in Devon!
We have some more film days in the diary! Why not join us for an amazing time with Tom & Lauren and you can see where the new games start and see them before they are released out via the absoluteDogs! Click here to see a full list of all the film days we have coming up!
