We have had sunshine, freezing rain, wind and even snow this week at Devon Dogs…and through it all we have had smiling students, happy dogs, great training…and lots of warm mugs of tea!  A week filled with wins, amazing learning and light bulb moments for all of our students. One of our top tips for our students is to video their sessions, this is such a great way to review your training session and to keep track of your progress!  You can look back on your training and improve your next session and see you and your dog learning!  Track your wins!

Agility classes worked on weave skills this past week, entries, staying in the weaves with distractions and our agility starters working on the beginning stages.  Genius Dog and Life Skills classes revisited teaching their dogs to disengage from distractions, this is such a great skill to teach your dogs and help your dog learn to turn away from that deer that you come across in the woods.  It is for sure an area we revisit with our own dogs in our training.  This weekend we held our Pet Detective Workshop, teaching the dogs to use their noses and build their search skills, even the students got their noses working!  We have one more day today, the learning for the dogs and handlers has been inspiring!

Post your win in the comments below and let us know how your training is going!

We are here to help you achieve your goals from our workshops and classes to bespoke 121 training and if it is simply not possible to make to us in person, we can organize a Consult Call.  Stop thinking about your goals and take action!  The sooner you do the sooner you will start achieving results!  Putting a lesson into your diary is a great way to keep on track and have an accountability check in and to get some help progressing towards your goals!
