What can we say?  This week was an amazing week.  Our Life Skills class took place at Meldon Quarry with loads of novelty, we had a group of people appear in a van to go Gorge scrambling.  People in wet suits and crash helmets is for sure not a situation you can train for!  On the moors, this is a novel situation that the dogs all rocked.  Figure 8 walking, Distraction Mark Treat, orientation from distraction, magic hand, middle and boundaries all helped the dogs adjust really quickly.  We love the games for showing the dogs people dressed differently is no big deal, a non-event!  A major win for all the students.

Buidling Your Genius Dog class did some work out and about starting their weave training.  Lots of fun and a super training evening.  Agility classes worked on their course skills as well as running contacts.  We are loving the lighter, bright evenings allowing us to train outside in the fresh air!

The big hit of the week was the Devon Dogs Great British Bake Off where we looked at Ditching the Bowl.  The Zoom group was amazing and we all finished the call with some tasty treats for our dogs and well stocked freezers of kongs/stuffables for our dogs to enjoy a bit later!  It was such a super fun evening.  We will be holding these types of workshops every 3rd Saturday of the month via Zoom workshop with topics varying.  Given the huge success of last Friday night, we will be doing some more food prep workshops for the dogs!  A massive win for everyone!

What are your tips for ditching the dinner bowl on a hot, humid day with your dog, pop a picture in the comments of this post on our Facebook Page.

Have a look at some new film days below which have been added to the Devon Dogs diary this weekend.  A few of the days are already full!  These days will be hosted by Tom & Lauren and are guaranteed to be fun filled days of inspiration!  If you can’t make it to us, we will be adding new online workshops, keep a look at the calendar!
